Skanska developed and constructed The Monument Building in the heart of the City of London. It creates a stunning backdrop to The Monument, the famous landmark that commemorates the Great Fire of London in 1666.
The ten-storey building was designed by architect Ken Shuttleworth’s Make, and has 8,000m2 of office space and 370m2 for retailers. Four of the floors have terraces, which provide excellent views of the capital. It’s designed to meet the BREEAM "Excellent" environmental standard with a green roof, solar panels and an intelligent lighting control system.
Knight Asphalte completed the waterproofing using Iko PermaTEC along with the inverted roof finishes and extensive green roof areas, providing an attractive vista from the historic Monument.
